The Three Musketeers
Still can’t believe Luke is going through all this just to give his friend a boost of confidence. And then what, Luke? And then what!?
Well first of all, Luke isn’t only becoming Lara to help Darren. That’s only the “Favors” portion of the title. There’s also the “Followers” portion, namely that he’s doing it because he’s seeing way more success streaming as Lara than he ever did as Luke. Second, after Darren gains his confidence around women, he’ll probably wait until Darren gets his own girlfriend and is in a stable relationship, and then he’ll come clean about the whole thing. At that point, Darren won’t be able to argue with the results and should appreciate with Luke has done for him. Luke might… Read more »
Helping Darren was his priority in the first place. The stream only came as a bonus for Luke, which so far has been a rather small part of the story. It would actually make more sense if he became Lara to help increase his donations from the stream, and then used his feminine persona to flirt with his friend. I doubt Darren will just gain confidence from dating Lara. I could see it happen because of his workout, but Luke didn’t have to become Lara to help him with that. Luke already dug his own grave when he told Darren… Read more »
Regardless of why Luke started being Lara, the whole streaming thing is part of the reason why he’s still becoming Lara now. Reasons change over time. And even if the streaming aspect hasn’t had as much focus as the other part of the plot, streaming is still an intricate part of the plot. Luke’s progress as Lara is enforced just as much by the streaming success as it is by helping Darren. I think Luke did need to become Lara to help Darren. He can’t gain confidence around women with a man’s help. Only a woman can truly make Darren… Read more »
LOL I love the store names
What does “a ten” mean?
top in looks
On a scale of 1-10, “she’s” a 10. A knockout, a really good looking person
This link says it all.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10_(film)
No offense but that film sounds really awful.
I don’t think the jerk that was cheating on his girlfriend would go near Hot Trendz unless he’s a closet Otako / gamer girl.
*sees them in a mall like it’s normal*
*EXTERNAL WEEPING COMMENCES*
Damn you 2020….
Malls in my city have in store limits for how many people are to be in at a time. Sees has pre packed samples to bad scotch mellows are not in the sample pool. I loved going there the day after a holiday to get chocolate half off. Scotch Mellow Heart make great Smores . the taste of chocolate, Marsh mellows, Caramel and Gram Crackers go wonderfully.
Hey, there not wearing masks. lmao
So?
Yes, but we don’t have Sili Gel neither. Oh,well.
Ah yes, this takes place in the 2020 we WISH we had
Since this takes place in the SF universe, which is not a one-for-one copy of our world, it could argued that Covid doesn’t exist in the SF universe, and possibly never did exist.
Not like ten, Lara, exactly ten. But first, time to go to the mall and buy them all!
Also, while we’re on the subject of clothes shopping, I just hope that Indy Panda is already gone/out of business by this point in time.
Different universe
What do you mean “different universe”? This story is part of the canon SF universe.
Exactly. Even though Favors and Followers is a “non-magic” comic, it still takes place in the SF universe. We’ve seen plenty of examples of this – sili-gel, posters of games like Age of Adventurers, and now names of some of the same clothing stores we’ve already seen in previous stories.
Just because there’s no magic in this story doesn’t mean that it takes place in a different universe.
it’s the science world not the magic one.
No, this is not the “science” world. There is no science world. There is only the SapphireFoxx universe. And in that universe, all of these stories exist within it. Different Perspectives, Getting Into Character, Maker’s Game, Doing Business As, Ashes to Ashes, and yes Favors and Followers all take place in the same world. There is no distinction between a “science world” and a “magic world” because there’s only one world.
This series may not have magic in it, but that doesn’t mean it takes place in a separate world from the magic-related SF stories.
I still don’t buy that they don’t completely recognize Luke, they are long time friends.
they can’t tell a wig from real hair?
They are waiting for the right time to tell him that they are in on her secret.
There’s no indication that Jackie and Ana know that Luke is Lara or that they’re waiting to tell him that they know. They could honestly just believe that Lara is Luke’s cousin. And until we’re told otherwise, why would think anything else?
Suspension of disbelief my friend. For the story to work, they cant recognize him. At least not yet. A good wig (which they haven’t touched and it looks like dyed hair), makeup, a “family resemblance” to Luke (she’s supposedly his cousin after all) and sili gel and suddenly, Luke is Lara. And no one is any the wiser
Okay has anyone noticed that Lara isn’t wearing her voice synthesizer? Is that thing only need to be put on once and it last all day or what? How does that work?
Why isn’t she wearing it? Is this just being ignored completely?
She’s supposed to be wearing it. As it has been said multiple times already, Lara is supposed to be wearing her voice synthesizer and it’s an artist mistake that it isn’t being included. The artists who drew these last few pages just forgot to add the choker to Lara’s neck.
That’s exactly what I was pointing out, i.e. “Why isn’t she wearing it?”
And that’s why I answered your question of why isn’t she wearing it – because she’s supposed to be wearing it. We’re just supposed to imagine that the choker is there. It’s not being ignored, it’s just that these pages are made in bulk, so if there’s a continuous artist error like this, they can’t go back and correct the error because these pages have already been made.
It’s like trying to correct a spelling mistake in a book that’s already been published – it’s too late to correct anything because it’s finished.
Luke/Lara hasn’t had it on since the makeover was started.
It’s an artist mistake that keeps going on for some reason
Eternally Twenty! 🤣 how do you come up with these names?
Liberal application of a thesaurus, I assume.
Sam after reading this comment:
If you like anti copyright names try playing Saturday morning RPG or simply looking up 3rd party transformers.
When is the sili gel going to wear off.
I think that might be the 8hr type of the SIli Gel unless at some point he gets the permanent Sili Gel by accident.
Not gonna happen.
The permanent stuff hasn’t been invented yet. Even then, i doubt that would be something you can just pick up at the store. Seems like something you would see a plastic surgeon for
Considering that Luke has only been disguised for a couple hours as Lara, he’s got at least another 6-10 hours before the sili-gel wears off.
