Oh luke
Why do I feel like all of this will eventually blow up in Luke’s face when it comes out. He’s deceiving his audience and his friends. He’s pretty much gaslighting Darren. This is not going to end well.
We’ve had stories on this website about characters deceiving their friends and family before. Different Perspectives, Godmother, Getting Into Character, etc. In the end, some of those characters end up better than they started. It is possible that, even though Luke is deceiving his friends, that they will be understanding and respectful when they find out the truth. Deception is not inherently evil. Just because someone gets deceived doesn’t mean they have to respond negatively to it. Oh yeah my bad, but maybe. Who knows, I honestly like the more magic side of things then sci fi.

Maybe? No, there is no maybe this time. The only way we’ll ever know if Luke has the gender curse is if he’s visited by Alistair or Isabelle. But that can’t happen since there is no magic in this comic, therefore no sorcerers, therefore no Alistair or Isabelle. So even if Luke has the curse, that will never be addressed or answered because no one will ever know.
Also, I would not call this comic “sci-fi.” Just because it doesn’t have magic in it doesn’t make this sci-fi.
