Well the “nuclear accident” is just a cover-up to deter outsiders (except apparently Nathan and his father); it’s more of an epidemic technically. And due to the nature of the virus, it would make sense that women’s clothing is one of the top imports of the island, along with food, water, medicine, etc.
The military budget must be going thru the roof by now… Assuming the island is in a defacto Martial Law, which meant everything goes thru the military…

There never was a nuclear accident. That was just a government coverup. Outside of the one civilian that the military killed as he tried to escape the island, the population of Cinder Isle has remained the same since the beginning.
