Nine Bloodlines: Gold

Bloodline Gold

Day 9. Gold. Transformation. Who’s this new girl? What’s her connection to Chris? To be clear, this is NOT Chris transforming, it’s her. You can tell from the Gold mana mark because those are something that can’t be faked.

I apologize for this last one being a couple of days late. While I am always ready and willing to work 18 hour days and work until 2am to meet deadlines for animations and comics, I am not going to go to those lengths for bonus content, especially around Christmas.
It would have been nice for this one to come out on Christmas because transformation is something that a lot of people would have liked to get, but hey, it’s out now, and you get a nice preview of this mystery girl.

Personally, the order I’m interested in would be:

9- Diamond – Meh
8- Amethyst – Meh
7- Ruby – Badass, but where could you use it?
6- Bronze – Be nearly unstoppable.
5- Silver – Stealth and Ghost Mode.
4- Gold – Transformation stuff, but any Bloodline can transform.
3- Emerald – For the health benefits.
2- Obsidian – I’d make an army of constructs to animate and make art for me, while I sit back and retire.
1- Sapphire – I can go anywhere I want instantly. Plus they are the only ones that can fly.

I don’t know your actual reasoning behind the decision to edit this before releasing it, but I think you made the right decision.

Think Iron Man and you can fly. As ANY bloodline. (Just putting that out there.)

Now that I’ve seen all five… Sapphire and Diamond bloodlines seem like they utterly outpower the others. Yes, in theory they all have a counter to the Sapphire-style speed blitz. In practice, that’s like expecting Batman to beat up Superman, sans plot armor. All of these bloodlines seem to need to cast something in order to go superhuman. With a Sapphire, they’re down before they even realize they’re under attack. And as for Diamond, how are these guys seen as weak?! Mind control? Soul manipulation? This sounds like the perfect recipe for an indescribably terrifying necromancer! And if the argument… Read more »

An accomplished Gold could make Emerald obsolete, Especially one well versed in cellular Biology. For that matter based on the existence of bloodlines suggesting a genetic component to magical aptitude an accomplished Gold could make all bloodlines obsolete.

Transmutations don’t affect the mana mark

So, the sorceress from “What Goes Around Comes Around” was from the gold bloodline, right?

With all due respect, the people who voted for this must be transgender.

Are you saying you don’t want a sword for an arm?

all this stuff would be nice for a videogame! I know it’s difficult, but you could try

There gotta be more reasons for me to choose gold over obsidian as a power. What about being alone when deadly macigan ninjas attack? Changing your appearance and bone can’t protect you when a obsidian decide to throw a massive real life castle into the air falling on you and fast. A obsidian can do many things like blocking himself off from harm and a obsidian is strong on offence and defense. Connected to a hospital those obsidians are unstoppable with their dreaded imaginations at war. Completely unstoppable? With a healer around all a obsidian need to do is to… Read more »

Personally, I think it would make sense to be limited by the Law of Conservation of Mass, given that “matter cannot be created or destroyed, only change form” For example, a person who weighs 150 pounds- while he/she may be able to change things like height and body shape, theoretically the person changed into should also weigh 150 pounds. That being said, Albert Einstein’s energy conversion formula did reveal the relationship between mass and energy, so at the same time, if sorcerers were able to find a way to take “energy” and turn it into matter, and vice versa, that… Read more »

I’m confused as to why Gold is so popular. Sure, they can transform; but all the bloodlines can do that. It kinda makes Gold’s specialty seem pointless.
