Fox: You made me whole again. You have a whish. If I can, I will fulfill it.
Garvin: Please remove the cure from all those wo suffer from it. If you can make us live in the right body.
Fox: So be it. Take my hand. And I will start today.

This could be an ending

This is exactly how I picture the comic ending.

“you identify as”? Normal people don’t talk like that… would’ve sounded better as “the name you chose” or “who you want to be”.

That’s not true at all. That’s a pretty common phrase these days. Transgender individuals use that phrase to describe themselves and others to show how they identify themselves, as well as a phrase for non-transgender individuals to describe people they know who are transgender.

“Michael is my friend. She identifies as a woman.”

… yes, common…

…common among people who, like us, have done at least some level of research into transgender issues…

…not common among normal people.

That may be true, but based on the vernacular that Gaela has used in the past, she would always say “you identify as” as opposed to “the name you chose” or “who you want to be”. It seems normal that Zack would have picked that up from listening to her.

That doesn’t matter. She didn’t even use it correctly. You don’t identify as a name. She said “the name you identify as” not “the person” or “the gender”.

*hugs Galea*

Can everyone remember that Zoey asked the bride if the vision she was shown was her future or not, and the bride said it was just what she desired.

That was a glimpse into what Zoey’s heart truly desired, not a look into the future. And to be fair, that glimpse of marrying Gavin could still come true. It’s just that she’d most likely marry Galea instead of Gavin.

I believe Zoey’s will get pregnant before Gavin finish’s Alistair, so then they will have to get married to do the honorable thing and when the offer is put on the table by Alistair if Zoey wants to turn back it will be another Robin situation where she doesn’t to switch back after carrying a child for nine months. The same thing will happen with Wanda and Dyana.

Gaela is a nice name, but I am unsure how to pronounce it :/

I’d say it’s pronounced like gay-la.

Yes that is how it’s pronounced.

I think I realized the source of my confusion with the story. It’s not about Gavin wanting to be a girl; in fact, this was one of my theories before.

It’s about Zoey wanting to turn back if given the chance. This is the one that I feel has zero foreshadowing at all, as opposed to Gavin’s secret that has some. A huge percentage of the plot is devoted to Zoey slowly accepting womanhood, and I feel that it would all be wasted if Zoey turns back to Zack.

I’m glad that Zoey still loves Gavin/Gaela, despite the secret.

I agree (I’ve realized my frustration), I don’t have a huge problem with Gavin’s secret than I was a few pages ago because I was frustrated with Zoey’s wish to turn back into Zack and I have that feeling that might happen. I feel frustrated because this comic has us see Zoey’s slow journey to womanhood and then she says that. If Zoey does turn back to Zack, I’ll be very disappoint, but I’m thinking way ahead (like I have been doing with this comic). I want Zoey to stay as Zoey but who know’s what will happen.

I’m not bothered by Zoey wanting to change back to Zack. I don’t find weird or odd or unusual or anything like that. Zoey/Zack was changed into a woman unwillingly. She didn’t want to be a woman and at first resisted accepting womanhood. As time went though, she probably realized that since she is stuck as a woman and with no cure in sight, she may as well just accept and embrace being a woman. Doesn’t mean she loves being a woman now. It means she’s making the best of a terrible situation. Kind of a fight or flight defense.… Read more »

Zack changed to Zoey and his/her journey learning to be a girl and liking it is the whole reason of almost 600 pages of this comic, the fact that after Zoey was fine being a girl, and happy with Gavin and their relationship was built since forever. What this looks like to me is a random twist with no buildup or forshadowing just to brink people back and intrested in the comic again, I have never seen any comic anywhere that has caused such a negative reaction with people ever! and now they’re trying to say it’s “planned” to avoid… Read more »

“This comic has gone for too long and they can’t keep their story straight” Um, pal, this has been the plan since the beginning. Sam himself confirmed this. One of the mods has known too. This isnt some random plot twist, the entire story has been planned out since before it started posting

Zoey accepting womanhood has been her making the best of a bad situation. Not to mention how much the virus has affected how she thinks. She resisted it as long as she could but gave in after it made her fall in love with Gavin/Gaela. Remove the virus and shes a straight man

Agreed. We don’t know how much of Zoey is Zack enjoying being a woman or the virus making Zack act this way and enjoy it. And while I do believe that Zack has been enjoying parts of it and does genuinely love Gavin/Gaela, I believe Zack is fully aware that the virus is making Zoey want to act feminine and, much like he did for the first 400 pages of the comic, Zack knows that isn’t really him and isn’t going to let that control him. Zack may enjoy parts of being a woman, but he’s not going to let… Read more »
