Yeah making this the sili-gel source would undermine Alistaire’s abilities. That would mean non bloods would be able to undermine all his efforts to deal with the red water for decades.. Glad you changed your mind on that.

Under the influence of the gender curse, the mayor is similar to many previous characters that are willing to flirt and (potentially) have sex and a relationship with somebody else despite that they have spouses/partners (at the time) and are (almost) uncaring about what happens if they get caught or found out.

Also, just going to chime in that there’s a ton of benefits for this NOT to be the source of sili-gel (as was apparently considered). Sili-gel reverses itself in most cases (including its first introduction with earning those tips) A single drop of the virus causes a full transformation eventually–not the case with sili-gel. If sili-gel was a modified curse, Alistair would need to cure it (e.g. Alistair would need to make Alyssa male again).
