so zoey’s sister took her clothes shopping at gander mountain/cabela’s parody. Didn’t see that one coming.

Also, there is nothing wrong with a girl wearing cargo pants of a lose shirt. Jeez.

Okay real talk: buying ripped jeans is like buying a phone with a “stylishly” cracked screen. And it is begging for them to last like 2 months and throw them away because those holes are a lot bigger after a few washes.

With winter fast approaching, Zoey doen’t have to worry about dresses, swimsuits, and summer clothes till spring.

Why is it so difficult to look at herself as she really is??

Cause physically he’s a she, but mentally he’s still a he.

Member

It’s a good point but I think that she was always inside “he”.

What Heather just said is a really messed up thing to say to someone (especially because his transformation was sudden and traumatizing). Zack just heard that basically the only reason there was conflict between the two was that he was born with characteristics that he had no control over and Heather was being antagonistic solely because she was frustrated. Seriously messed up.

Seriously messed up, but also realistic. Common cause of sibling rivalry

Too bad all the clothes in her wardrobe didn’t somehow magically transform to girl’s clothes after she put them on.

This is really depressing. Zach is suffering here and his sister wants him to become something he does not want to be.

I agree, I think what Heather said was really messed up.

I don’t think Zack is suffering I think Zoey is just in denial and that is not a river in Egypt.

That really does not work in the written or typed word. Zach’s mother and sister seem to be too willing to sacrifice their son/brother for this Zoe creature. “I always wanted a sister” or “We would have named you Zoey” is a bunch of crap.

I disagree that Zach’s mom is sacrificing her son by telling him what his name would have been if he was born a girl. My sister and her husband are expecting their second child right now, and they’ve come up with names for a boy and a girl despite not knowing what the gender is yet. My parents have told me many times that I would have been named Annie if I was born a girl. It’s not uncommon for parents to come up with different names for the same unborn child when they don’t know what the gender will… Read more »

Taking advantage is manipulation. I thought the name thing was way too early. A good parent would have said, “Don’t worry, son! We are going to everything possible to change you back.” Not what she did do.

In some instances, taking advantage is manipulation, but not always. In this case, Heather is doing this to help Zach as well as fulfilling a lifelong dream of having an afternoon of cloth shopping with her sister. So I wouldn’t call what Heather’s doing to Zach “manipulation.” She’s just pushing him to at least give this new life a try. I also don’t think it was too early for Zach’s mother to say something like that. Keep in mind, she already witnessed the virus first hand by working at the hospital. She knew, just like everyone in Cinder Isle knows… Read more »
