All the things Ashely pointed out as Alistair’s self-inflicted punishment, I believe that not asking the DSC (which he probably knew about) for help was also a part of him punishing himself.
You know this is all well and good but I am wondering what is going to be happening to Christina, she just had to knock her mom, stepdad and holly out. I hope that we will learn about that soon.
Maybe that will be a possible connumdrum in the next episodes possibly half the sf legion will go to seattle to save them while the other half head off with the spf and dsc to deal with sylvana

It’s debatable if there will be a few mini-series involving Alastair and his followers (with some help from the DSC and SPF) will cure a couple of the people they helped previously especially those that they had befriended. Something in the Night is Young will also probably be one reason Awakening will not show episode 21 until much later besides an entire battle sequence involving defeating Sylvana.
Even after Sylvana’s final defeat, there will probably be a few of her sorcerer followers that won’t go down without a fight even with their leader (and their strongest player) finally dead. Alastair and his followers will probably save the specific people they helped and/or befriended in the past then have to explain things on what occurred earlier when Sylvana released her enhanced curses on the world.
Well the at least this time he will not have to do it alone now thst the dsc and spf know about it as well as his apprentices
