Well, here I am again, on my shit, critiquing a series thing on Sapphirefoxx dot com. I caught up again, and honestly, while I like the general idea of this one, it’s starting to get a bit… too uncomfortable with how much this is leaning into suffering porn with the hint of identity death. Shudders. Pros: -Voice acting was good. Cons: -The pacing in this is far too slow. -The animation feels rushed, with some of the background characters not moving at all. -While the torment Eric goes through is meant to be part of the story, it drags on for way too long, to the point where the torment feels genuinely uncomfortable. Yes it’s dragging on like Yugi vs Arkana (Yu-Gi-Oh) with misplays. Yami Yugi could attack opponent’s LP directly in OTK during Turn 3 with Alpha the Magnet Warrior (1400 ATK), summon Celtic Guardian (1400 ATK), & Fiend Jester via Brain Control (1300 ATK). Total 4100 LP damage. But no, he’s showing off with his favorite card, Dark Magician.
I wouldn’t personally put it *that* low, but yeah it’s starting to really hit the point of being a bit uncomfortable.
Kinda hope the finish will be soon, kinda becomes to big now. This is kinda sexual harassment. This is just as bad (or worse) than what Dutch (and to another extent, Shane) went through when he found out Christine was forced to move on with someone else (she was made to believe Dutch and Shane were killed by radiation). The difference is that it is not likely for Penelope to find out the truth once Mark gets his comeuppance in contrast with Dutch and Shane who can still technically prove to Christine they are alive. Well that’s how this stuff is written in these types of stories.
A crossroad either Eric/Erica needs to have a plan to out of her predicament, or find a way to come to terms with her problem and still get back at mark.
While I do feel bad for Eric/Erica, she’s partially upsetting herself by trying to cling on to her old life. Make no mistakes, I know that Mark was the peice of shit who put them through the whole gender swap deal in the first place, but until she either turns back into a man or realises that reverting back is impossible while getting her revenge on Mark she can’t be too hard on herself.
Fav series so far, can’t wait to see what’s next!
