I feel like “white” is a rather odd choice of words. I would have said “American” or “European”.
I’m genuinely curious: is the term “white” often used by people of Japanese/Asian ethnicity in contrast to their own ethnicities? I ask as a matter of linguistics.
Generally in Japan and Korea you will hear them use “foreigner” (in their language) most often. I have had friends who speak English say “white,” though. Not a big deal. I usually only hear specific nationalities from people who have traveled a lot. But yeah, generally in both of these countries, linguistically it’s ether “japanese or non-japanese” / “korean or non-korean.” And more often than not, that’s based off appearance.
