Cypher refered to himself as Daddy also but it looks like Lara is far to into this to think straight right now.
2 things; 1 the evidence is pointing straight to Karl except for the fact that on the call there was no evidence saying the person calling was drunk but Karl clearly is so is that a mistake or a clue. 2 still think it is Karl
He could just be pretending to be hammered. If hes been a good enough actor to pull all this off until now, he could easily pretend to be drunk

I know I’ve been saying for a while that Karl isn’t Cypher, but it’s become pretty clear now that I was wrong. I simply followed the evidence, and at the time it was pointing to Stephen. Now that he’s eliminated from the suspect pool, Karl’s name has come back up. Those texts Luke was getting while with Karl seem much more conspicuous now. Karl is now the prime suspect for being Cypher
There wasn’t enough in-story evidence for it to be sure, in my opinion. But from a meta-narrative perspective… When the answer to a mystery is just given to the main character, it should immediately be suspect. The instant Karl offered up a name, I assumed Stephen was a scapegoat.
