I can’t help but wonder if the Red stuff is controlling the infected’s minds as well. It certainly seems odd that Dyanna let the two bullies into the Water Treatment Building without asking for any proof of identification before she opened the door for them.
So is the red goo controlling their minds now? They seem pretty hellbent on keeping Gavin from figuring out what’s going on with that barrel, even if they themselves don’t consciously know. Its almost as if some unknown force is making those girls allow it to happen?

It’s in daylight and the ghosts can’t leave the forest while the sun is out as getting hit by light hurts/weakens them. The mistress ghost can work around this by taking over another person’s body, but we don’t if she has done so for the festival.
