Based on the coment section I’ll have to play the guy on the left shoulder with the pitch fork lol. Do it Dutch stuff her like a thanksgiving turkey. Bend her over the couch and make her a woman. Then try some other places like on the washing machine.

Dutch you’re more of a man for staying loyal to your wife. And your friend will be grateful if he ever regains his own body and sensibilities.

Wanda, even if your marriage is failing and you have accepted the changes, the adult thing to do is to end the marriage properly first and break up before jumping into bed with someone else.

Dutch, if she’s willing to cheat on her wife with you, she wont be loyal to you either. And if you ever get off this island, you’ll have betrayed your wife, the mother of your child.

I really hope he doesn’t give in to this. He’s probably the only adult character that I still like in this series tbh

It’s a good thing Dutch is wearing a sweater vest. It might slow Wanda down just enough that he might be able regain HIS senses. Otherwise if it was just the shirt I’d expect Wanda to get aggressive and just rip off his shirt and start pearl diving. I think Wanda is getting hungry for a Big Popsicle.

Wanda looks depressed on panels three and four.
Dutch better tread carefully or he’ll end up infected himself.

I think by now they need to concentrate camp the infected

Member
6 days 9 hours ago

That’s massively excessive. They’re already confined to the island. Worst case is they remain there, eventually all the men will be infected and the population on the island will ultimately die out. Hopefully taking the disease with them.

But they should be allowed to live their lives out normally beyond that. The confinement on the island is more than enough. Concentration camps or mass murder are overkill in the extreme.

I am going to say this over and over. when the inhabitants of the island become a political or military liability, they will simply disappear. In other words, which truth of the World Trade Center do you believe?

Say what you just wrote out loud and say it slowly. Sounds pretty disgusting and backwards when you say it out loud, doesn’t it? Concentration camps/Internment camps were never a solution or answer. They were evil, torturous and inhuman for treating their captives like the lowest forms of life on the planet. They were made by power hungry men that wanted to prove to the world that they’re the superior race and they’d go to any lengths to prove it. Anyone with even the smallest ounce of humanity would never even think that a concentration camp can solve their problems,… Read more »

I think your thinking of Nazi concentration camps. Concentration camps were originally British, started off as refugee camps to provide food and aid to refugees during the boer war, but were then pretty badly managed after the number of refugees grew pretty large. Simple point is a concentration camp doesn’t necessarily mean a place of death and torture. It can literally be a place where people are concentrated for a myriad of reasons either as a refugee shelter, a border detention centre or for various other reasons. They’re not necessarily evil.

You really can’t say the words “concentration camps” nowadays and not have everyone immediately think of evil, terrible and inhuman things happening inside of them. It doesn’t really matter what they were used for before the Nazis, because what they did is now synonymous with concentration camps.

Member

Thus his statement is not necessarily evil and may be valid. I.e it is not a bad idea to concentrate the infected in a seperate area with plenty of food, water, warm clothing and accommodation. (i.e a seperate area of the town). This is especially true considering the fact that not only are the infected highly contangious but also that they’re mentally influenced by the virus.

So…you want to imprison the infected? Despite the fact that they’re already imprisoned on Cinder Isle? Whether this has been addressed or not, Cinder Isle is effectively a prison now for all of the inhabitants. While they still get to live their normal lives, they’re stuck on the island and there’s nothing they can do about it. What would be the point of imprisoning the infected if they’re already stuck on Cinder Isle? Sure, it would guarantee that the uninfected don’t become infected, but then you’re separating families and acting like the infected are inferior to the uninfected. There’s really… Read more »

I’d like to take a moment to show just how badly this segregation would go, with just a couple of examples. The population of Cinder Isle is over 10,000, so you have to imagine there are hundreds if not thousands of families on the island. And since nearly 30% of the population is infected, that has to mean some members of families are infected and some aren’t. In one case, forcing Wanda to move into a ghetto without the rest of her family (since she’s the only one infected in that family), would mean that Clarissa, Chase and Gavin no… Read more »

Realistically what would most likely happen is that the all men on the island would be forcefully relocated to the mainland. Testing would then find out the rest of the uninfected women who would also be relocated to the mainland. The infected population would be kept on the island and financially and physically supported by the government. Right now Life is not continuing as normal. More people are getting infected which will lead to more broken families. Separating them would not be treating them like second class citizen’s it would just acknowledge the threat they pose due to the virus.… Read more »

Earlier in the comic, it was proven that testing isn’t enough to tell if someone is infected or not. The test results could come back negative for someone, and then they’d be shipped off to the mainland and then suddenly show signs of being infected. The virus can lay dormant in someone for days or even weeks before it actually starts to transform them, it depends entirely on how good or bad someone’s immune system is. Someone whose been carrying the virus for days but tested negative for the virus could be shipped back to the mainland and then starts… Read more »

Alcatraz Escape – June 11, 1962
If there was ever an inmate who was destined to escape from Alcatraz, it was Frank Lee Morris. In the movie entitled The escape plan took several months to design, and it would necessitate the fabrication of clever decoys and water survival gear. It someone can do it from one of the heaviest guarded places in the middle of the San Francisco bay how hard will it be with all the resources to do it from Cinder Island?

I will admit however that the most prominent thought when you hear of concentration camps is severly negative due to history as even the british concentration camps turned from refugee centres to horrible prison camps for POWs from the boer war.

Being a lot, lot older that most of you, that why I can speak on different things. One of the thing I leaned while volunteering for emergency serves, from a fireman giving a lecture, if come down to putting all your resource on saving one with a small chance of surviving or the resource into saving five, and letting one go, you go for saving the five. That the real world and you can’t change that. As Mr. Spock would say “the needs of the many, out weight the needs of the few”

Nazi is the common English name for Germany between 1933 and 1945, when Adolf Hitler and his (NSDAP) National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei )

The U.S. and the Soviet Union both had internment camps during World War 2; the U.S. targeted Japanese-Americans on the west coast, the Soviets (Joseph Stalin) targeted everyone that opposed him.

“Wanda, we shouldn’t be doing this.” “Doing what?” “Denying our true feelings.” (They connect eyes) “Well sir, what are your true feelings right now.” “Wanda, I feel……I feel like we are men. Both of us.” (Wanda stands up shocked) “What did you call me?” “I called you a man. Because that’s what you are. A man suffering from a viral infection that is affecting you physiologically and mentally.” (Wanda removes her dress violently and throws it across the room. She removes her bra and starts lowering her panties.) “Waaaa. what are you doing?” (She stands facing him completely naked.) “Tell… Read more »

I’m having a really hard time feeling sorry for Wanda, she is selfish, amoral and manipulative, are we meant to see her as a villain?

Member
6 days 9 hours ago

A villain, no. But the rest of what you said is accurate. Though not entirely her fault, it’s accurate. She is selfish, amoral and manipulative. No matter what the disease has done, she is still capable of rational thought. She could relive herself by herself if she really needed to. She knows full well that getting with a man could and likely will spread the virus. But she is placing her own desires above that of her friend. But to be a villain, she’d have to be doing this deliberately, with malicious intent. Selfish, amoral and manipulative, but not malicious.… Read more »

According to what Wanda said a few pages ago, she can’t satisfy that sexual itch by herself. She’s been trying that for the last two months and it’s not enough. She needs the real thing or she’ll never be satisfied. The virus has made sure that masturbation will never be enough for an infected.

Also, it is possible for Wanda to have sex with an uninfected and not get them infected. The whole point of that sex ed scene a while back was to tell us that it is possible as long as they use the proper protection.

Wanda is like any other transformed married man in Cinder Isle – trapped in a body he didn’t ask for, stuck on an island with no ability to contact the outside world, has his brain chemistry altered to be attracted to someone of his original sex (whether he wants to be attracted to men or not), and is constantly horny with no way of relieving that itch since his wife isn’t interested in having sex with him now. Suffice to say, Wanda is not a villain, he’s one case of probably hundreds on Cinder Isle right now. The virus is… Read more »

The virus need a host body to survive and a way to infect other for it to spread. Be it can rewrite the DNA among other things, it can also hard wired the host brain to force host to copulate with another unsuspecting victim, as it has creating a very pleasing trap.

I agree. As a child of a dad that cheated I’m feeling very little remorse for Wanda atm. No matter how messed up your relationship is, you should never cheat. It doesn’t fix anything, especially if there are kids involved. Just separate if you’re unhappy

Wanda is not a villain. She is experiencing feelings and desires she is not equipped to handle.
If a man gets horny, they don’t get judged for it and the fact they are both still married complicates
things on quite a few levels.

Member

If a man cheats on his spouse, they are and very much should be judged for it. In an extremely negative manner. If a man get’s horny and watches a little porn and fires off a round in the bathroom, life moves on. When you get married, you are pledging your loyalty to your spouse. It’s called CHEATING for a reason. It’s a betrayal.

Editor
6 days 8 hours ago

If a man cheats on his spouse, then you look for why he cheated before passing judgment. Maybe the man was in a loveless marriage where he doesn’t feel satisfied? Or maybe his wife was abusing him? Maybe his wife has moved away and refuses to get a divorce? Or, in this case, maybe an unknown virus is altering his brain chemistry to the point that he must have sex with another man by any means necessary while also clouding his judgment and morality so that he doesn’t even think about the fact that he’s cheating? In that particular instant,… Read more »

Men do get judged for getting horny depending on the situation. If a man gets an erection for someone he shouldn’t in public (for example his friend’s girlfriend) then everyone that notices and knows about the situation will judge him and think less of him for that. Similarly if a man cheats on his wife either due to instinct or planning, he will be judged by those around him and many will think lesser of him because of it. Wanda can be seen as a villain as she’s deliberately seducing a married man with a child, which can break up… Read more »

There is no such thing as cheating based on instinct. The idea of “he couldn’t control himself” is a lie made up to justify poor behavior.
