You know, you can’t even get away with not seeing the biohazard symbol to excuse this. Nathan could clearly see that they were carrying this with GAS masks, they were transporting this stuff OFF the island (meaning they didn’t want it ON it), and they clearly must have wanted people to stay the F#$% away from this island for actual reasons. Maybe treat the unknown barrel with some respect and assume whatever contents shouldn’t be touched, even if only for material value? Exercise caution?

The level of stupid. I mean my lord! Not sure who is the biggest screw up, the reporter for bringing his son and touching a biohazard bare handed, or the idiot who dropped it into the ocean to begin with! Ya done F’ed up big time!

As I said ” Journalists(?) seem to think they are invulnerable to Bullets, Biohazards, Radiation because of the First Amendment. Now the Gender Pandemic is going to begin,, should be fun to watch.

Assuming it spreads in the ocean it will take months if not years for the ocean currents to spread it globally.
And the civilian seamen population of Cinder Isle has dropped to zero.
They might want to stop yelling, the MPs could hear them.

He put his contaminated hand in the water! He will affect the sea life that live there with the infected water now.

the barrel was already compromised and floating in the water towards them, its likely the contaminants have affected the surrounding sea life.\

Would be funny if this is a bit of a red herring and it turns out if you wash off the red goop fast enough it doesn’t transform you.

What does the government do when they find something new and exotic, turn it into a bioweapon.

Sorry Sam, this scene doesn’t make sense. I’d like to know why the red fluid is being shipped off island in the first place. The barrels have “biohazard” stamped on them. We know that people won’t die of it but as a plague, It is quite effective. So the reporter could be its first off island victim. Is the story end going to be a world full of women, frantically seeking a way to make babies via 2 women?

If the government is shipping the red liquid off the island in barrels, I’m inclined to believe that they’re doing it to help the people of Cinder Isle until I’m told otherwise. They’re probably taking the red liquid to the most advanced medical research center in the area so that they can study the liquid, find out how it works, why it’s transforming everyone who comes in contact with it into a woman and if they can reverse the process and make a cure. I like to think that’s why the government is shipping the liquid off the island in… Read more »

So since it doesn’t make sense to you you feel the need to call out Sam for it because you don’t get the ‘big picture’. Sorry dude. Just like other comics before this one this story is told page by page. Or have you not read the other comics?

Yeah…I have to admit, there’s far too many people acting like idiots in this story for my liking. I was okay with the stuff on the bridge, because scared people facing down the possibility of a world wide epidemic COULD reasonably choose the most extreme option, but then it feels like the idiot ball is being passed around. Leaving the infected along side the uninfected, knowing that there’s always the possibility of incidents like the diner or the party where the plague goes from cold to hot is really irresponsible. Especially considering that they know the plague makes the libido… Read more »

Yep its a problem in hollywood films too “Oh look the cow has been rendered down to a skeleton and there is this mysterious goo here. I shall stick my unprotected hand in it so I can give it a smell and sniff test.”
