Part of me thinks it would be really fitting to have an almost-anticlimactic conclusion in the next part or two where Erica just brings in a sledgehammer to smash the crystal, with Mark absolutely unable to comprehend that she loves her wife enough to sacrifice her old life for her (because he’s a psychopathic narcissist) and Erica kind of ashamed that it took Mark attacking Penelope for her to decide stopping him from doing more harm was more important than trying to find a way back.
I know for some people that they find this series to be a little too mean-spirited, but to me, I find it to be extremely captivating about a villian who gets way too cocky and wants it all. It showcases a lot of depths and layers to who is my favourite SF villian after Sylvanna. Mark is now after Penelope!?
