You could be right, but it was definitely the commander’s armor. Compare the color scheme.
Also, if you watched the prequel animation, the transformed character’s hair color changed some during the transformation.

I called it when I mentioned what Clayton’s reaction would be several weeks ago: Shocked, but ultimately supportive.
Also, wasn’t it the white necklace that reversed the transformation and the black one that transformed Juan into Jazmin?

That was the only logical conclusion when one considers the source of the red pond and the fact that Gavin was “immune”. I also recall a comment a while back where SF was stating that Gavin was NOT immune (all caps for emphasis, not shouting). I suspected when the “dark secret” was mentioned, but the immunity all but confirmed it to me.
