I feel like “Matthew” is not in a good relationship with his wife or his father. It feels like they make him feel like they have charted him on a fixed path that is making him feel trapped. I hope her transformation gives her freedom from all of it, & a new path.

Did he tell his dad everything already? I reviewed the strip but it is a little unclear. He should anyway- you never know who or what a little old barber might know- they meet and talk to a LOT of people. Also, up until a century ago barbering and healing were the same profession. Barbers were the first doctors. If anyone non blood was to know of a true magical healer- it would probably be a little old barber. It would be an interesting story line anyway.

I like your thinking. The barber as surgeon/doctor a century ago was typical in most small communities of the old West.

He needs to run to work at the Barber shop and ask his Dad for advice. Is Matt’s Mom still alive? That would be a fun conversation!

You need some world building. Maybe one of them should go to a white witch website. The denial guy would be despite to look for any answer.
