My guess is that we’re seeing some people from Evan’s past who will soon be meeting Eva. Since they were mean to Evan in the past, will Eva find some way to get revenge on them in the present?

At the moment, its a flashback to Evan’s childhood. As to why we’re seeing it right now, my guess is that the dice is going to change something. It might be that the dice will affect Evan’s memories, so that it was Eva in this situation instead of Evan, and thus the bullies would treat Eva differently.
It is a multi-sided dice, and we’ve only seen two different outcomes. Maybe we’re about to see what happens when it lands on a something else.
That’s the most logical, and since Eva is meant to be working tomorrow and Evan prefers Eva, what happens when his memories become Eva it will be different to Matt’s curse for Eva will be in charge but with a new story.
My guess is that Evan will turn into a school or college student like Miley (Matthew) – that’s why the flashback 🙂
